Let’s be honest, from the time we first heard that Phish would be reuniting for a three night stint in Hampton, Virginia in late March, did anyone really think Trey Anastasio and Co. would be closing shop right after that? Of course not, and that’s why rumors of appearances Bonnaroo and Rothbury and talk of an extensive summer tour have been filling the blogosophere for the better part of two months now.
Today, Phish finally confirmed the latter, announcing what appears to be the first leg of an extensive North American tour set to begin in early June. While specific details are still forthcoming, the legendary outfit will reportedly kick off the trek with a two night stint at the Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island, a venue where they haven’t performed since 1995. Stops in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Missouri, and a slew of other places follow, all of which will apparently be centered around the band’s much rumored appearance at Bonnaroo.
According to Hidden Track, tickets for these shows will go on sale beginning January 30th via Ticketmaster.com.
