Seeing as that they hail from a city with a population of just 3,000 and play under a name that well, sounds more like the name of a Russian radio station, Radio Moscow may not be your prototypical rock outfit. Then there’s the sound. Nothing about the Story City, Iowa based outfit’s music suggests that its from the 21st century; their debut LP fits nicely between Cream and Jimi Hendrix and on first listen, it feels like you’ve discovered one of the greatest records of the 60’s.

Fortunately for us, there still time to jump on the Radio Moscow bandwagon before Parker Griggs and Co. catch a few too many ears and are soon embraced as music’s next-big-thing, prompting a move to Brooklyn and a spot on every blog’s radar. Alright, so we may be taking things a little extreme, but come the release of their sophomore studio effort, Brain Cycles, due out April 14th, that may very well just happen.

Don’t believe us? Take the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach word for it; he produced their the band’s debut album and took them under his wing for a string of dates through Europe last year. In support of the release, Radio Moscow will be hitting the road hard with 18 shows in 23 days throughout the U.S. this February. They group will be supporting Sweden’s Dead Man. Iowans & Swedes together on one tour? What’s the world coming to?!?!
