Details have finally emerged regarding Van Morrison‘s much anticipated live reincarnation of his recent two-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl. If you remember, the legendary singer/songwriter took to the Los Angeles this past November to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his classic album, Astral Weeks.
As we learned today, Astral Weeks: Live at the Hollywood Bowl will officially hit music shelves on February 10th via EMI Music. Available on both CD and a deluxe double vinyl, the release will feature eight tracks along with a few bonus selections taken from Morrison’s two night performances and mixed by longtime production engineer Mick Glossop. A high-definition live DVD documenting the shows is also expected to be released in the coming months.
Of course, if you’re the type who would rather relive Morrison’s 1968 classic in a more intimate setting, or in other words, without a television screen separating you from the Irish native’s live rendition of “Beside You”, don’t worry. Morrison plans to perform another Astral Weeks stint in late February in New York.
