What would The Allman Brothers Band‘s 40th anniversary be without a massive music celebration with a load of their best contemporaries? So it only makes sense that the legendary outfit has decided to reincarnate their Wanee Music Festival for another go around.
The Allman Brothers (performing two nights), Gov’t Mule, Umphrey’s McGee, and The Doobie Brothers head the fifth edition of the Live Oak, Florida based festival, this year scheduled to take place from June 5-6 at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. Other acts of note include Toots And The Maytals, Drive-By Truckers, Keller Williams, Little Feat, Susan Tedeschi, and The Wailers, who will be performing Exodus in its entirety. And while the much rumored appearance of The Dead is currently lacking from the bill, all is not lost as Bill Kreutzmann, the band’s guitarist, is scheduled to play a solo set.
