To their own credit, dream-pop Brooklyn trio Chairlift spends every night artfully lulling people to a peaceful sleep with their dazzling harmonies and musical precision. Of course, that’s what has also brought them success. While spending most of 2008 on the road, their debut album, Does You Inspire You?, picked up some steam and garnered critical acclaim from the likes of Spin and The Deli Magazine. What’s more, their hit single “Bruises” recently made its way onto the new iPod Nano-Chromatic commercial. That’s success that rarely happens on a night’s sleep!
Currently, the trio is gearing up for a massive joint U.S. tour with avant-pop enthusiasts YACHT, who themselves will release their debut album, See Mystery Lights, in the springtime. If you’re into dreamscales, melodies that make you quiver in the night and all around enjoy beautiful music, Chairlift certainly can get you to Dreamland before you click your ruby slippers on home.
