2008 was a pretty good year for Leonard Cohen, especially from a financial standpoint: the legendary singer/songwriter sold over 700,000 tickets across 84 shows worldwide. In fact, the last 12 months were so good for Cohen that come March 31st, he will look to relive it forever thanks to release of a brand new live album.
Entitled Live In London, the two CD/DVD set captures Cohen’s performance from London’s 02 Arena on July 17, 2008, which featured a set drawn from the artist’s 40-year repertory. The compilation, which is available for pre-order via Amazon.com, will mark’s first new release since 2004’s Dear Heather and his first live album since 2001’s Field Commander Cohen: Tour of 1979.
In support of the release, Cohen currently has two performances scheduled; one being a February 19th performance at the recently reopened Beacon Theater in New York and the other a sub-headlining appearance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival.
