Earlier this week, we reported that in addition to its upcoming appearance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival, Throbbing Gristle would perform at several other locations in the U.S. during the month of April. Today, the legendary British outfit provided a bit more details about these plans, which will officially mark it first U.S. performances in 28 years.
Beginning April 16th, Throbbing Gristle will embark on what is a two week trek, consisting of five shows, including the aforementioned appearance at Coachella. Of these, two dates (Brooklyn and Chicago) will feature two sets, one which will see the band performing the live soundtrack to Derek Jarmans 1980 film, In The Shadow Of The Sun, and the other consisting of a mix of greatest hits. Tickets for both shows are currently available via Ticketmaster.com.
The remaining dates will all consist of one set, with UCLA getting the soundtrack, while San Francisco’s Grand Regency Ballroom will take in the greatest hits. No word on what is planned for Coachella, but the latter option seems more likely.
