11 months ago, word came of Chickenfoot, a brand new supergroup featuring ex-Van Halen alumni, frontman Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony, along with guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith. 11 months later, this eclectic group has not only defied logic and managed to stay together for 11, but is currently gearing up for the release of its debut LP and North American tour.

Entitled Chikcenfoot, the 11 track effort will look to covey the band’s unique brand of “high-energy, kick-ass rock ‘n’ roll,” the type which Hagar described as Led Zeppelin-esque, “It’s as good as that.”

The album will be released exclusively through Best Buy on July 9th, and will be headed by Chickenfoot’s first single, “Oh Yeah”, which is currently available for stream via the band’s website.
In support of the release, Chickenfoot has announced plans for a nine-date North American tour for the month of May.
