To say 2009 has been a big year for the Dirty Projectors would perhaps be the biggest understatement of, well, 2009. Looking to expand on the success of the last 365 days, the Brooklyn based outfit has already begun planning the year ahead, specifically what it’ll be doing in mid-February.

On February 19th, the Projectors will jump on the 1 train and head to New York’s Lincoln Center where they’ll be participating in the the acclaimed American Songbook series. Then, on the 27th of that month, they’ll become the latest indie rockers to team up Los Angeles Philharmonic. The performance, which takes place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, will be split in two parts: the first half of the program features the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing orchestral pieces chosen with frontman David Longstreths. The second half of the program features a performance by Dirty Projectors.

Tickets for the Lincoln Center show (priced from $40-$85) are currently on sale. Tickets for the Los Angeles show (priced from $32-$60) will go on sale beginning Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 10 am PST.

Until then, the Projectors still have a few more tour dates in 2009.
