Muse may write Clash of the Titans soundtrack

Considering the increasingly epic quality Muse creates on every album, it probably won’t come as a surprise that they’ve been asked to write the film soundtrack for the Clash of the Titans remake. The only question is whether or not the band will take on the project.

“It’s something we’re up for doing — it’s just a case of timing because we’re always on tour,” frontman Matt Bellamy said to The Daily Star.Clash Of The Titans is the first interesting offer we’ve had for film work. We’re definitely interested in writing for films at some point when we get a break from being on the road.”

If Muse wants to find time to record the soundtrack, they’re going to have to work fast. The band only has a three week February break between their current tour in the Far East and their upcoming North American arena trek. Plus, the film, a remake of the 1981 classic, is set to hit theaters on March 26th, which is like a little less than four months from now.

If the project were to come to fruition it could be drastically different than the band’s most recent LP, The Resistance. As NME points out, Bellamy had previously mentioned that his work on the Clash of the Titans soundtrack is likely to be “totally different to Muse.”

    Stay tuned, folks.
