The fun, but unfortunately-named Atlanta garage-rock four-piece Gringo Star will be back on the road after spending much of last year touring the world with bands like …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and the Black Lips. Having just wrapped up touring duties last December, the quartet is starting up a U.S. tour in February, reportedly continuing into Europe.
The band’s first date is in Miami on February 23rd, and the guys are playing small venues all over the South before hitting Austin for two gigs at South by Southwest. They’ll venture into the Midwest for a few dates, visit New York City for two shows, and end things back at home on April 16 in Atlanta.
Also, despite a very busy spring, Gringo Star will be recording a new album, having finished demos for it already. If it’s anything like 2008’s catchy All Y’all, good fun can be expected at these shows. Tickets for the tour will be available on Ticketmaster.
