Some three years after Everest entered the music scene with its 2007 debut, Ghost Notes. Now, three years later, the Los Angeles outfit is back with its sophomore album, On Approach. The record will be released on April 20 through Vapor Records.

What can fans expect from album number two? A different band, for one thing. According to vocalist/guitarist Russell Pollard, “We weren’t a band for very long when we made Ghost Notes. We had songs, we recorded them in just two weeks, then immediately toured. On Approach has been a completely different experience.” Some of those touring opportunities mentioned included dates with some of their heroes, such as Wilco and Neil Young. Not bad for a band just starting out!

According to a press release, On Approach has a pre-Internet era feel to it, containing chiming yet tense guitars, delicate harmonies, and Pollard’s hazy vocals. While the tracklist hasn’t been revealed, some numbers have been mentioned, such as the opening thumper “Let’s Go”, the pure rock “House of 9’s”, and the gentle humming of “Keeping The Score”.

“Now it’s guys who’ve actually struggled together and survived some tight spaces, cramped hotel rooms, some arguments and some really, really good times. There was a lot of collaboration, and we weren’t afraid to do anything,” reveals Pollard.

Stay tuned for more info, folks.
