Cristina Bautista, who plays bass for Seattle rock band Visqueen, has answered the call to an open audition for Foxs hit television show, Glee. The contest, which ends on April 26th, has Gleeks picking their audition song from a list of 10 songs that includes cuts from Kanye West, Phil Collins, and REO Speedwagon.
On her audition video, Bautista brandishes a ukulele and belts out an acoustic rendition of Amy Winehouses 2007 hit, Rehab. She goes on to say that she should also be on the show because she missed out on high school and has played in bands since she was 17. Bautista left high school at 15 and got her college degree two years later, but does a ticket to tinsel town mean the end for Visqueen?
Probably not. While the contests website says entrants cannot be subject to a current recording contract, Visqueen shouldnt have trouble finding someone to play the low notes if Bautista decides to chase her glee club dreams — the band has gone through four different bassists since it formed in 2001.
