Festivals in Brief: July 7-14

In case you haven’t already noticed, we here at CoS love a good festival. We also love great festivals, mediocre festivals, stupendous festivals and even the occasional “meh” (shoulder shrug) festival.  In short, festivals are our “thing” and if you are reading this, perhaps they’re your “thing” too. So for you, the die-hard festival fan, or you the StumbleUpon user who has come across our humble site, we are resurrecting our Festivals in Brief feature.

Each week we will compile the latest news regarding festivals (like interviews, recaps, and lineup additions), and squeeze it down into a handy reference that you can tuck into your front shirt pocket.

    — The LA rave scene received a blow when festival organizers announced this year’s edition of HARD LA would be canceled.

    — The maiden voyage of Nateva Music and Camping Festival went off without a hitch despite being in the upper right hard-to-reach corner of nowhere.

    — Almost three months before its set to launch, Austin City Limits shared its 2010 schedule.

Consequence of Sound is offering free passes to the Lollapalooza and North Coast music festival, but there’s a catch.

    — Video of the currently-disbanded Japanese Motors giving an interview at Scion Garage Fest surfaced.
