My Morning Jacket announces hometown Louisville show

My Morning Jacket sure are busy for a band that hasn’t released an album in two years. Less than a week after they perform that five-night New York residency, the band will home for a show on October 29th at Louisville’s new — wait for it — KFC Yum! Center. The show comes soon after the Eagles open the arena, meaning there’s maybe a 1% chance the Jacket reprises their “Tequila Sunrise” cover.

The concert promises to be one long hometown shout-out. The Louisville Youth Orchestra will join MMJ onstage while the city’s own Wax Fang open the event. Tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster August 14th, where $45 gets you either a reserved seat or a General Admission spot. Louisville’s ear X-tacy Records will hold a cash-only G.A. pre-sale on the 12th though, to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
