B.o.B. opened (just hours before he dropped a video with Rivers) and just 30 minutes later he was followed by Jay-Z, who then launched into a prototypical Jay-Z set, complete with Memphis Bleek and Young Jeezy guest appearances and performances of “Empire State of Mind” and “99 Problems”. Then, Eminem came on and, well, shit got really real, because Drake played “Forever” with him, 50 Cent made a cameo, and Dr. Dre, yes thee Dre. Dre, showed up and performed “Nuthin’ But a G Thang” and “Still D.R.E” before being assaulted with a “Detox” chant for which he responded “I’m comin!”. Along the way, Eminem also teamed up with Jay-Z for a performance of “Renegade”, Trick Trick for “Welcome 2 Detroit”, and B.o.B. for “Airplanes Pt. II”, reports the Detroit News. Um, yeah.
Video evidence follows, and tickets for Jay-Z and Eminem’s remaining joint performances — tonight in Detroit and Sept. 13th & 14th in NYC — are available here.
