Modern English drop new EP, hit the road

There seems to be no stopping post-punk/new wave band Modern English. Having gone through several lineup changes since their inception in 1979, the band released their seventh studio album, Soundtrack, in May of this year. Plus, this weekend, UK outfit launched their second North American tour of 2010 in support of the recently released Blister EP.

The new EP is available on download only and can be purchased here (how very modern!) and features the title track, taken from Soundtrack, a non-album track, and two previously unreleased demos. Meanwhile, the current lineup of Robbie Grey, Gary McDowell, Mick Conroy, and Stephen Walker – all original members of the band – plus Steven Walker and Ric Chandler are heading out on an eight-date tour of North America.

Things kick off with a couple of dates in California before heading north to Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle. A return to warmer climes follows with dates in Utah and Arizona before things wrap up at Jack’s 5th Show Radio Fetival in Irvine, CA, on September 18th. Tickets to the Portland show on September 9th are available now via Ticketmaster.
