It might not be as creative as say, reuniting Pavement or having Flaming Lips play Soft Bulletin in its entirety, but the latest event to be hosted by the folks at ATP (All Tomorrow’s Parties) will surely please my neighbors on Bedford Ave. For the festival’s Spring 2011 installment, organizers have tapped none other than indie heroes Animal Collective to serve as guest curators.
Already, the Brooklyn experimental rockers have chosen a slew of equally eclectic sounding acts to play alongside them, including Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Broadcast, Prince Rama, Spectrum, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, and Gang Gang Dance. Both the Meat Puppets and The Frogs will also appear, performing their albums Up On The Sun and It’s Only Right & Natural, respectively.
The festival will take place from May 13-15 at the Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead, England. In all, over 40 acts will play over the weekend, so expect more announcements soon. Tickets for the festival, priced at £165.00pp for room only and £175.00pp for self catering, will go on sale Friday, October 29th via atpfestival.com. For more information, click here.
