Whether you’re a fan of the show or not, it’s pretty hard to ignore the impact Glee has had on the music industry. For one, people are buying music again. Sales increase week after week. No kidding. But, what’s even more telling, it’s not just the listeners who are fans. Artists themselves have made their catalogues available to the show’s creators, which in turn has resulted in entire episodes revolving around a single artist. So far, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears have squeezed into McKinley High. The line continues to grow — even Sir Paul McCartney wants in! — but there’s one question producers have to answer, “Who’s The Boss?”
Yep, the next music icon to receive the Glee treatment could be New Jersey’s golden boy, Bruce Springsteen.
Rumors have been circulating that America’s favorite glee club could be belting out The Boss’ tunes on an future episode of the hit show, with the possibility of an appearance by Springsteen himself. Nothing is set in stone just yet, but cast member Jane Lynch is pumped according to a recent interview.
“I hear rumors that we may do a Bruce Springsteen episode and I think something like that would be amazing – I’m a big fan!” Lynch told RTE Ten.
Not only do Gleeks have a reason to rejoice this week, but Springsteen fans can also look forward to the television premiere of The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town Thursday night at 9:00 pm ET/PT on HBO. The documentary will also be available as part of the massive box set scheduled for release on November 16th.
