Ryan Adams confirms first concert in 18 months

    Since “retiring” nearly two years ago, the talented Ryan Adams has done everything from marry Mandy Moore and start a record label to release a metal album and write a real album. But what he hasn’t done is play a gig. That will change tomorrow, however, when Adams delivers his first live performance since March 2009 at a 826la.org benefit at Beverly Hills’ Writers Guild Theater.

    According to Jambands, director Judd Apatow and writer Dave Eggers will host the benefit, titled “I Found This Funny: An Evening of Music & Comedy to Benefit 826la.org.” Along with Adams, confirmed performers include comedian Aziz Ansari, Fleetwood Mac singer Lindsey Buckingham, and film score icon Randy Newman.

    General admission tickets for the benefit are still available. All proceeds 826LA, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write
