It’s been more than two years since Rev Theory‘s breakthrough album, Light It Up, was released. Since then, they’ve toured with Avenged Sevenfold and Breaking Benjamin as well as had a song available for download in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Now the hard rockers are set to return with their third record, Justice, on February 15th through Interscope/Geffen/A&M.
Produced by Terry Date, Justice was recorded at Henson Studios, CA, and if the self-titled first single is any indictation (stream here), then expect a Rage Against the Machine quality, combining angry vocals with the grinding guitars that the band is known for. As far as the title goes, Justice is way more than just a name. For the band, it’s a concept encompassing a philosophy of rebellion.
Every one walking this Earth has encountered an injustice in their lives. Whether it be professionally, philosophically, religiously, spiritually, politically, or even in a relationship they hold dear, this song is a statement towards standing up for ones self and taking what is yours,” said guitarist Julien Jorgensen. “It is a time in society where adversity must be challenged with strength, and as a band we have rallied around the belief that our time has come and we are going to grab it.
Justice’s tracklist and artwork are still forthcoming, so stay tuned.
