It’s hard to believe that it’s nearly been a year since Haiti was rocked by the devastating earthquake at the onset of 2010. While the damage is still far from being cleared away and the nation is years from being rebuilt, an array of artists including Conor Oberst, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, and native Wyclef Jean have all helped to generate both finances and awareness for the ongoing process. And now Los Angeles electronic trio The Glitch Mob have rounded up some of their industry friends to help pull in some additional aid.
On January 12, 2011, the one-year anniversary of the Haitian quake, The Glitch Mob will release Drink The Sea Remixes Vol. I and II via Downloadtodonate.org. For a $10 donation, fans can download the two-volume, 24-track collection which features remixes courtesy of King Britt, ESKMO, DJ Vadim, Deru, Virtual Boy, Machinedrum, Jogger, and Chris De Luca.
Before the release, The Glitch Mob will be celebrating the New Year and one hell of a 2010 with a two night stint in Athens, Georgia, at New Earth Music Hall. And just for a little taste, check out DJ Vadims remix of “Fortune Days” featuring Pugs Atomz and Yarah Bravo.
