Festivals in Brief: A.C.E. (After Coachella Edict)

Were any of us foolish enough to believe this week would be all quiet on the Festivals news front? In the wake of Coachella’s 2011 lineup announcement countless other premium festivals, both domestic and abroad, proved that they were not ready to go gentle into that good night. The New Orleans Jazz Fest dropped a formidable, genre-spanning bill, while Spain’s Bilbao BBK Live proved that Amy Winehouse is not only alive, but still capable of being booked.

We’d also be remiss not to note last night’s surprising, yet totally kick ass bombshell. Reclusive Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum and UK trip-hop icons Portishead will headline All Tomorrow’s Parties “I’ll Be Your Mirror” festival, set to run from September 30 – October 2nd in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

And all this is addition to the always-churning festival rumor mill, which has led to a slew of recent updates for Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, Lollapalooza, and even Austin City Limits.
