Battles aren’t set to reveal their guest-heavy sophomore LP Gloss Drop until June 7th, but thanks to BBC Radio (via We All Want Someone to Shout For), a stream of the track “Ice Cream” featuring Matias Aguayo is available below. A whirlwind of super funky bass lines, glitchy bleeps and bloops, and John Stanier’s always incredible drumming, the four-and-a-half minute number stays true to its title in being one delectable treat. As cheesy as that sounds, seriously dudes, nice first impression.
Warp Records has the honors of releasing Gloss Drop on June 7th and pre-orders are now ongoing. Also, don’t forget to see the band on tour this summer.
