Regardless of the end result, there’s no denying that Walt Disney Pictures has an eye for talent when it comes to their films’ soundtracks. Now, on the heels of Daft Punk’s contribution to Tron: Legacy, the film company has set its sights on another music favorite — Ms. Zooey Deschanel.

In news that makes all the sense in the world, Ms. Ben Gibbard has contributed music to the forthcoming Winnie the Pooh movie. According to an issued press release, Deschanel “joins Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, performing three songs for the film,” including her own take on the classic “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, “A Very Important Thing to Do”, and the original end-credit song “So Long”.

The press release goes on to note that “A Very Important Thing to Do” is “a song that helps illustrate the contest the friends from the Hundred Acre Wood take on to find Eeyore a new tail.” “So Long”, on the other hand, will be played during the end credits. Deschanel wrote the song with She & Him collaborator M. Ward, and you can watch a preview in the video below.

If that weren’t enough, Deschanel also lent her voice to songs entitled “Everything is Honey” and “Pooh’s Finale”, joining Jim Cummings (the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger) and other cast members.

The soundtrack for Winnie the Pooh will be available July 12th via Walt Disney Records. The film itself hits theaters three days later on July 15th.
