Four videos have entered, only one will be the official Scattered Trees music video!
Chris Daker shot his first music video in Ireland last November for “Take Me Home” by John Blek and the Rats. He finds inspiration in old trick films from the turn of the 20th century as well as from modern directors such as Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze, and Wes Anderson. He’s currently at NYU and working on a film about a girl who leaves her boyfriend while he’s on the toilet entitled “Dumped”.
Daker’s creativity is certainly on display in his video for Scattered Trees. It starts with singing into a pay phone. From there, our protagonist walks along the sidewalks of a city as the band interacts with the song. From putting up signs that display the chorus’ signature “Oh No” to having the band members appear and disappear to the tone of the keys, the camera turns the people and the city into visual instruments.
