In life, it’s all about the connections you make, and perhaps no other current artist knows that better than ASKA. The Japanese-born, LA-based singer-songwriter/composer has worked with everyone from Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Spike Jonze (who used one of her songs for his I’m Here film.) Now, fresh off her self-titled debut EP, ASKA shares with the world the video for “I’m A Hunter”, which further demonstrates the girl has a mighty impressive Rolodex.

The video, directed by Marc-Edouard Leon, edited by Aki Mizutani, and featuring choreography by actress Shannyn Sossamon, features a who’s who of young LA talent. From Paul Gondry, son of Michel Gondry, to actress Annakim Violette, daughter of Tom Petty, along with Theresa Wayman from Warpaint and singer Ariana Delawari, each talent collaborated on a video featuring either the most terrifying religious ceremony ever or the best party the City of Angels has ever seen. Pay extra close attention to the music used in the opening sequence; ASKA, Butchy Fuego, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner’s side project have some trance music featured. Oh, and don’t forget to thank Kinbaku expert Master K for the intricate rope work.

Check out the video now on Cluster 1. ASKA’s full-length debut is scheduled to hit stores sometime this year, so stay tuned for more info on that as it’s announced.
