Given the recent developments of his longtime friend and bandmate Clarence Clemons, a new studio album is probably the last thing on Bruce Springsteen‘s mind. But as Blogness on the Edge of Town points out, a recent update on producer Ron Aniello’s website seems to indicate that the follow-up to 2009’s Working on a Dream might not be too far off.

Aniello, whose resume includes work with Barenaked Ladies, Guster, and Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, now lists himself as a producer on the “forthcoming album” by Bruce Springsteen.

Details currently stop there, and Springsteen’s representation did not respond to our requests for comment as of press time. However, if the news is, in fact, true, it would mark the first time since 1995’s The Ghost of Tom Joad that Springsteen has worked with a producer other than Brendan O’Brien.
