Check Out: Mastodon – “Deathbound”

We told you this was coming. Adult Swim’s Singles Program is officially one month deep, as today a previously unreleased track from Atlanta’s metal behemoths Mastodon is now available. Entitled “Deathbound”, the cut is rare outtake from the band’s recording sessions for 2009’s Crack the Skye. Head over to Adult Swim to snag “Deathbound” for free, plus get three other tracks from How To Dress Well, Best Coast, and Ford & Lopatin. An equally epic video for Mastodon’s song is also posted below.

In other news related to the prehistorically monikered metal-heads, another track title has been revealed for their upcoming fifth album, The Hunter. The track “Dry Bone Valley” joins the list of confirmed titles that include “The Octopus Has No Friends”, “Blasteroids”, and “Stargasm”. We’ll keep you posted when a full tracklist and more details become available.

In the meantime, European readers can look forward to a number of tour dates through July, including a handful of Sonisphere Festival stops. North Americans are only in luck if they’re attending Heavy T.O., or luckier still if they live in Seattle and can catch them at The Gorge as part of Soundgarden’s ridiculous summer tour. See Mastodon’s full schedule below.
