“Life Is Life” starts off surreal enough as a teenager screams in the middle of the street, holding a piece of watermelon. From there, she starts to run as Noah and The Whale perform against a backdrop of cheerleaders. Sprinting towards an airport field and a hot air balloon, our protagonist seems to be looking for an escape route. But in this Charlie Fink directed piece, the line between what’s real and what’s not is very blurred indeed.
