Watch Bahamas play for In The Open (Cluster 1 Premiere)

Music festivals are a great place to hear live music in beautiful outdoor settings, but there’s something to be said for a more personal approach to open-air performances. Enter In The Open, a group of honest music lovers whose main project is taking artists off the stage and placing them out in the world to play acoustic renditions of one of their songs. Cluster 1 has the pleasure of premiering the site’s most recent video, Bahamas performing a cover of Wreckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World.”

Armed with a guitar, a few simple chords, and a pair of synchronously-attired ladies backing him up, Afie Jurvanen cooly sings on a Long Beach, CA pier. Around them, a father plays with his daughter, a couple read while nestled together, and a charming lighthouse, um, lights things. It’s a pleasantly intimate clip, mellow as a lazy summer afternoon shot through a glary yellow filter.
