wilcothewholelove Wilco sets date for The Whole Love, announces 2011 tour dates

After a Wilco-heavy weekend – what with three new songs (“I Might”, “Born Alone”, “Dawned on Me”), a cover (“I Love My Label”), and their own festival – it’s only fitting that the Chicago folk rockers would unveil plans for their eighth studio LP, The Whole Love. Today, the band has announced that the forthcoming effort will hit stores September 27th, via their own imprint dBpm Records.

The band’s press release calls the new LP “a veritable sonic stew”, and that it features some heavy bookends. There’s a seven-minute opener titled “Art of Almost” and a 12 minute closer in “One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley’s Boyfriend)”. Naturally, you’ll find new single “I Might” amidst the 12 track listing, which you can peep below.

What’s more, the band’s dished out some tour dates – both North American and overseas. Following their performance at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, Wilco will return in September with a handful of appearances across North America, which will be followed by a great international jaunt that carries them into the holiday season. Bring your costumes, turkeys, and sweaters, boys.

The Whole Love arrives on 9/27 (via dBpm Records).
