Fresh off their collaboration with Prefuse 73 back in May (not to mention some fine work with the folks behind gummy earlier this week), The Flaming Lips return with another collaborative effort. Wayne Coyne and company, who have also gotten together musically with Neon Indian, recently recorded a 12″ with Rhode Island noise rock duo Lightning Bolt. The video for one of the effort’s tracks, “I Wanna Get High But I Don’t Want Brain Damage” is available above. Like a good acid trip, both the video and the clip are loud, disjointed, and will leave you feeling queasy.
The effort will feature four tracks, with each band taking lead on two versions of each cut. Those in Boston on July 26th can head to Newbury Comics’ Harvard Square location, where Coyne will have four copies of the EP available.
