For something to be retro, it has to have been out of style for about 15 or 20 years before making a resurgence into culture. The music video for “Take It As It Comes” by the Vivian Girls certainly fits these qualifications. Though the track has a 50s sound, the video borrows heavily from the 1980s. The focus is on a group of teenage girls talking over their house phones to each other about crushes and going out later than night. 80s-centric items in their bedrooms include the corded phones and vintage posters of the Ramones and the Cure.
“Take It As It Comes” is from Vivian Girls’ third album, Share The Joy. It’s available to purchase through Polyvinyl.
