Thanks to everything from a hilarious tour rider to a slew of wacky music videos over the years, we’ve been able to safely discern that Foo Fighters is a truly fun-loving band. And part of that dedication to a good time means continually finding interesting and novel ways of engaging their fans. Aside from giving their followers a cutesy nickname, Dave Grohl and company took that goal to its most logical extreme: go to the fans’ houses, turn their garages into mini-stadiums, and rock the hell out.
Below is the resulting footage of the band’s “Garage Tour” from this past April, where they played the homes of a select few lucky contest winners from across North America. See the band’s honest, earnest interactions with fans, watch as they tear up garages of all size with cuts from across their catalog, and marvel at Grohl’s reaction to the wonder that is the accidental boner.
The band’s latest, Wasting Light, is out now. It’s still great.
