Your band could open for Yelle

There’s got to be a strange yearning that comes when someone trying to make it big with their band goes to check out a concert. “Damn,” you might think, “I could be up there. I should be up there!” If only you had the chance. Leave it to the French to make your dreams come true. Electro-pop trio Yelle is currently in the midst of a world tour, and when they enter the US through L.A. on November 10th, they’re bringing an opportunity for an up-and-coming act to fill in as openers.

Four lucky bands will be selected for opening spots for not only Yelle’s L.A. gig, but in San Francisco, Miami, and New York City, as well. That’s one band per city, friends, giving four bands their shot. The contest is open to anyone and any band, whether it’s a 14-piece metal orchestra or a solo xylophonist. All you need to do is submit your most impressive info packet, including links, videos, bios, and anything else to make you stand out, to yelle.contest@gmail.com. Don’t forget to include the show you’re applying for! Contest closes October 15th, with winners revealed on the 30th.

CoS has the pleasure of giving you not only the first shot at the contest, but also the premiere listen to a new remix from Yelle. They sing in French, sure, but translation was never needed for booty shaking, and “Comme Un Enfant” off their Safari Disco Club LP is a body-mover. In the talented hands of London producer Second Date, somehow it becomes an even dancier number. Check it out below, with the original underneath for comparison.
