Two of New York City’s most famed institutions — Jay-Z and Carnegie Hall — will finally meet early next year. According to RapRadar, the rapper will play a pair of charity shows at the venue on February 6th and 7th. Tickets will be sold privately on December 12th, with a limited supply then going on sale to the general public on January 30th at 11:00AM ET.
The shows will benefit both his own Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation and the United Way, which has a program aiming to improve graduation rates among New York City teenagers.
Says Hov in an issued statement:
“Its every artists dream to play a venue as legendary as Carnegie Hall. The fact that I can use the arts and my talent to benefit the education of the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and great thinkers makes for a legendary night. I’m proud to be a part of the continuing work of United Way of New York City and expanding the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.”
