As reported, The Mountain Goats are currently touring the U.S., showcasing tracks off their upcoming 14th LP. As The NJ Underground points out, footage of a new track entitled “Diaz Brothers” has made its way online, and you can watch it below. A fair warning though: As frontman John Darnielle noted in a November 2011 letter, ”be advised that if you’re the sort of person who wants as many surprises as possible when you hear a new album, you should tread lightly around recordings of these shows, because we’re not going to be holding the best ones back for the album release like people tend to do now.”

Rolling Stone caught the tour’s stop in Austin last week, and reports that Darnielle described the LP, tentatively titled Transcendental Youth, as their “Satan record.” Says Rolling Stone: “[The album] deals with religious and social outcasts and was written while tending to his infant son Roman in his Durham, North Carolina home.” Other track titles include “In Memory of Satan”, “Transcendental Youth”, and “Night Light”.

Stay tuned for additional album details, including a release date. In the meantime, fans down south can currently catch the band on the road; their upcoming tour dates are listed below, as well.
