currenmusclecar1 Curren$y releases live instrument album: The Muscle Car Chronicles

Curren$y first announced The Muscle Car Chronicles back in early 2011. Now today, rather out of the blue, the rapper and producer Sean O’Connell have released the nine-track live instrument album via Damon Dash’s BluRoc label. Recorded back in 2010, the LP features vocals from Curren$y put to music by O’Connell, Robert E. Corrigan, Jr., and Thomas Pridgen (former drummer of the Mars Volta). The release, which surfaced just days after Curren$y’s Here EP dropped, also features a bonus disc of extra music from O’Connell.

For a taste of the record, check out the album opener “Soundbombin’ ” below (via Pitchfork). The album’s tracklist and a ‘making-of’ video follow.
