Brooklyn instrumental math-rock trio Turing Machine has announced a new LP, What Is The Meaning of What, their first record in eight years. According to Pitchfork, the band started working on the follow-up to 2004s Zwei in 2008 but stopped when drummer Jerry Fuchs (!!!, The Juan Maclean, Maserati) suddenly passed away. Fuchs’ efforts on What Is The Meaning of What mark his final recordings.
To finish the LP, Turing Machine recruited members of DFA, more specifically LCD Soundsystems Pat Mahoney and Disappears Brian Case. Below, listen to the first cut off the record, Slave to the Algorithm.
