New York-by-way-of-Florida indie pop couple Blonds made their impressive debut last December with the Dark Roots EP. Now, they’re gearing up for their first full-length, The Bad Ones, due out August 7th.
According to Stereogum, Carie Rae Woodfield and Jordy Asher joined forces with producer Nico Vernhes (Dirty Proejctors, Deerhunter) for the the LP, and you can preview the result with the song “Run”. Woodfield’s Nancy Sinatra (alternatively, Lana del Rey) husk reverberates between Asher’s echoing, ominous guitar strums, coyly coming in and out of the foreground. They’re still “two little lovers, one big sound,” but Vernhes’ production value adds a new cut and color to their sound. Check it out below.
