On Friday night, The Dismemberment Plan debuted their first new material in 11 years at Baltimore’s Metro Gallery. The songs didn’t come without warning, per se. Earlier that evening, opening band Deleted Scenes tweeted: ”The Dismemberment Plan is sound checking new songs. #firsties,” and the following morning, D-Plan confirmed the news via Facebook: “Good times last night, and we got the hot / sweaty show we asked for. Don’t forget tonight doors are 630pm, curfew is 10:30, so don’t be draggin your feet. Rumor has it we played some new songs.”

According to Setlist.fm, the Washington, D.C. collective knocked out seven new tracks, which includes a cut about Northern Virginia titled, “White Collar White Trash”. While the rest are currently untitled, the tracks offer an exciting glimpse of possible things to come, satiating many fans still hungry following the band’s reunion in 2010. Check out fan footage of six tracks below (we’ll add the seventh if and when it surfaces).

Update – 8/13: This afternoon, frontman Travis Morrison posted a message on the band’s Facebook, stating: “We played a bunch of new songs this weekend at our shows. Eight to be exact! It went well, we think. We have a bunch more coming so we’re going back to the lab to work on brand new ones and tweak these. No plans for recording as of yet, although certainly those conversations are happening now.” Stay tuned for any updates.
