Feist wins 2012 Polaris Music Prize

    Leslie Feist’s latest album, Metals, has won the 2012 Polaris Music Prize. The annual award honors the best album from Canada as selected by a jury of music journalists, bloggers, and broadcasters. Feist beat out acts like Drake Fucked Up, Japandroids, Grimes, Handsome Furs,  and Kathleen Edwards. She’s the first woman to win the award.

    Along with bragging rights, Feist receives a $30,000 cash prize and a touring van. Past winners include Arcade Fire, Fucked Up, Caribou, and Owen Pallett.
