As you may know, there are two upcoming Hollywood productions dealing with Jeff Buckley. One is an actual biopic about the late singer, starring the guy who played U2’s Spider-Man. The other is called Greetings From Tim Buckley and tells the story of Jeff’s involvement in a tribute concert for his father. Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley plays Jeff in that one, and he seemed to pass the first test with a solid live performance of “Lilac Wine” recently. Now, the trailer for Greetings From Tim Buckley has been revealed (via Stereogum), and by the looks of it, this movie is going to be more of an over dramatic love story than any sort of exercise in music history. But at least he sort of looks like him.
