The Breeders’ lineup of Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson have reunited to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough smash, Last Splash. According to a press release, the band reconvened last month for rehearsals following a text from Deal that asked, “Should we get together to play Last Splash for its twentieth anniversary?”
The reunited outfit has already confirmed an appearance at next June’s ATP Festival curated by Deerhunter, where they’ll perform Last Splash in full. (Oddly enough, their last performance was at ATP NY in 2010.) Prior to their appearance, 4AD will release a deluxe anniversary edition of the album in April.
