Burger Records has put together another compilation benefiting a cuddly wuddly animal. If you recall, the Fullerton, CA label previously released The Kitty Comp to pay for a stray kitten’s surgery. Now they’re back with a new compilation to aid Popcorn the Dachshund, who needs surgery to remove a growth from her belly. If you’re already tearing up, it’s totally fine and just proves you’re a good and decent human being.
The Wiener Dog Comp is comprised of two tapes of 71 unreleased songs from Thee Oh Sees, King Tuff, Redd Kross, Cleaners From Venus, Gap Dream, the Memories, White Fang, Jaill, John Wesley Coleman, MMOSS, and many, many more.
If you haven’t already cracked open your wallet, check out a stream of Thee Oh Sees’ country-tinged “Teacher’s Holiday” as an incentive. Or just stare into Popcorn’s angelic eyes one more time.
The Wiener Dog Comp is limited to 500 copies, and you can pre-order your copy here. Once Popcorn’s medical bills are paid, the remaining funds will benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
