Trent Reznors super-side-project How to Destroy Angels has revealed another taste of their forthcoming full-length debut, Welcome oblivion, in the form of “How Long”. The silver-tinged trip-hop track swells with tribal choruses that elevate the many bleep and bloops that sound stripped from an old Macintosh PowerPC. The accompanying video, however, is a post-apocalyptic tale directed by Shynola, who mixes elements from The Road, The Gods Must Be Crazy, and Apocalpyto.
Along with the song and video, the band has revealed the album’s artwork and tracklist. As Pitchfork reports, there will be multiple covers for the varying editions, including different tracklists. The vinyl edition comes stocked with two extra tracks included on a white label CD that’s packaged with the LP. Consult the vinyl’s artwork above and the tracklists shortly after the video below.
Welcome oblivion arrives March 5th through Columbia Records. The album follows the release of their 2010 debut EP and last years An omen_ EP.
