Guided by Voices have dropped the first track off their forthcoming Down by the Racetrack EP. Titled “Copy Zero”, the somber acid-washed nap finds Robert Pollard talking about “glossy types and factotums,” how “succulence has bled them dry,” and god knows what. It’s a mess, but in that tragic, hey-that’s-really-deep-man sort of way. Stream it below (via The Fire Note).
As previously reported, Down by the Racetrack will be available in 7″ and CD formats on January 22nd through the band’s own GBV Inc. imprint. They also have another album on the way, English Little League, which drops April 30th.
