We humans had a good run at the whole music thing — really solid showing from pretty much everyone involved. Unfortunately, the epoch of “actual humans playing music” has now come to end, and we organic vessels of blood and feelings must pass the torch to our new robot masters, who will be performing all of the music from now on.
These robots, under the name Compressorhead, call themselves “the most metal band on earth” and armed with their cover of Motörhead’s “Ace Of Spades” and a deft grasp of puns, they will soon enslave the human race.
Their website describes some of the twisted experiments these heartless machines have been performing on actual human musicians: “Did you ever wonder what Danny Carey would sound like if he had 4 arms? How about if Angus Young had 78 fingers? Imagine what Robert Trujillo would sound like if he was actually made of metal?”
Truly disgusting stuff. I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.
Compressorhead will, no joke, be playing the mainstage at Australia’s Big Day Out Festival. So while Daft Punk won’t be touring in 2013, you can still hear some Robot Rock! (Dear god I hope the robots like that pun.)
