    Cleotha Staples, the eldest sister and founding member of The Staple Singers, died Wednesday at the age of 78. According to the Chicago Tribune, Staples was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease for 12 years, and had been under 24-hour home care.

    To date, The Staple Singers have sold over 10 millions records, including “Respect Yourself”, “I’ll Take You There”, and “If You’re Ready (Come Go With Me)”.
